Dr. Peterson has over 20 years of experience as the CEO of 5 companies. He has led start up efforts through to sale, takeovers and turnarounds as well as public and private corporations in the call center, scientific and medical staffing, hospital staffing, hospital services, claims administration and specialty marketing businesses—in both domestic and international markets. Prior to his business career, Dr. Peterson was an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. for 10 years. He completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Michigan as a member of the Inteflex Program. He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and was board certified in emergency medicine in 1998. He has worked as an emergency physician overseases, most notably in the Accident & Emergency Ward of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, Northern Ireland and later throughout Kenya and Tanzania with the East African Flying Doctor Service. He served 7 years as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Global Health Council where he was a juror for the awards in international health issued by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He was also on the Board of Directors of the AIDS Action Coalition. Dr. Peterson and his wife, Crystal, and their children split their time between Chevy Chase, MD and Los Angeles, CA.
Karen Deli, Executive Vice President of Operations
Ms. Deli has managed customer service operations, training, marketing and business development programs for nearly 25 years. Before joining Specialists On Call, she designed and directed business process improvement initiatives for On Assignment (ASGN) and Convergys (CVG). She has specific experience in emergency medical service delivery, telemedicine, medical education, and quality improvement in both academic and public safety settings.
Leonard Dimitri DaSilva, M.D., Neurology Medical Director
Dr. Dimitri DaSilva is a board certified, fellowship trained neurologist and vascular neurologist. Before joining Specialists On Call, he was the director of the Stroke and Memory Clinic of the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare System, in Tallahassee, Florida, where he worked as a neurohospitalist/stroke specialist and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine for the Florida State University College of Medicine. Dr. Dimitri DaSilva completed his fellowship and neurology residency at the University of Texas-Houston where he was chosen as chief resident and won the Resident Teacher Award for Neurology. He was also an attending/fellow at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center ICU and completed a three year residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dr. Dimitri DaSilva earned his medical degree from the Universidad Federal de Juiz de Fora in Brazil.
Alberto Penalver, M.D., Psychiatry Medical Director
Dr. Penalver is a board certified psychiatrist with over 20 years experience working as the Medical Director of the Psychiatric Emergency Service at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami, Florida. Prior to completing his residency in psychiatry at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, he also earned his medical degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
Gregory E. Reynolds, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Reynolds has over 30 years of finance and accounting experience across a broad range of industries, including outsourced services, technology, financial services and ecommerce. Throughout his career he has led finance functions in both public and private companies and has extensive experience launching new business ventures and start-ups, executing strategic business acquisitions and raising public and private debt and equity capital. Mr. Reynolds began his career at Arthur Anderson, L.L.P. and spent 10 years as a practicing Certified Public Accountant.
Kathleen Plath, Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Ms. Plath has nearly 20 years of sales, sales management and marketing experience for both large and small companies in the healthcare and technology industries. She was a founding member of the Specialists On Call team, helping to formulate the go-to-market strategy, launch and sales of the teleneurology service. Before returning to Specialists On Call, after a brief stint away, she led business development for HealthWyse and successfully launched a clinical and financial electronic health record solution for the home health market.
